Although this piece of news was already brought to my attention a few days ago, I happen to run across it again on the front page of cnn.com tonight. The Mayor of Newburgh is begging the Capitol to hold the trial of the 5 terriorists behind the 9/11 attack at the new $22 million courthouse built in the city of Newburgh (which is still not paid for might I add). The mayor of the city claims it could use the economic boost and that "[they've] got nothing to lose."
Damn right he has nothing to lose! For those of you who haven't been to Newburgh, NY, this place is a complete shithole; it's a run down city occupied by people who would make Snooki their queen. The crime rate in this city is so high that you'd get shanked out on the street faster than you could say Fist Pump. Newburgh is such an embarrassment for the Hudson Valley and the last thing we need is for the press to gather in this pitiful place and broadcast it to the world. The sad conditions of the city would probably gather more attention than the trial and that wouldn't be fair for those terrorists now would it?
